Configuring Batch Schedulers

General presentation

SEPA Payment Suite can manage a large number of creditors, and each creditor can choose its own batch scheduling settings.

Three processing chains are considered critical for the creditor and can be dited:

  • Collection generation (SDD, SCT);
  • Collection file (pain) generation (SDD, SCT);
  • R-Transactions file generation (camt054, camt053, Pain.002, CBISTIN003, CBISTIP002 to CFONB240, NORMA19, CBI, DTAUSOUT, CODA).
  • Extract Mandates soon coming obsolete
  • CAI Domestic File Generation

SEPA Payment Suite can be set up to initiate batch scheduling at different times for each of these processes.

The other processing chains are not configurable by the creditor:

  • Mandate reachability status update => An automatic process checks daily if the reachability of a mandate has to be updated. The process runs daily but the SWIFT repository is updated monthly, but not to a fixed date (between 1st and 5th).
  • Mandate status update (for suspension, revocation,
)
  • Payment schedule based transaction generation => Generate the SDD from the payment schedule
  • Update settled transactions status => When the value date is passed, the SDD status is updated to Settled

The processing chain configuration can be changed either by a reseller or an organization. Each organization node can configure its own triggering settings.

The processing chain configuration is available through a specific option named “Batch Hours configuration” and a specific profile “Batch Hours configuration”.

The batch configuration option for the batches ‘collection generation’ and ‘collection file generation’ should be visible only if the options ‘collection generation’ and ‘collection file management’ for the organization is active. Also, if these options are deactivated, the corresponding triggers should be deleted.

Configuring the Processing Chains

The following processing chains are configurable by the creditor:

  • Collection generation (SDD, SCT);

  • Collection file (pain) generation (SDD, SCT);

  • R-Transactions file generation in CFONB240, NORMA19, CBI, CODA, DTAUSOUT format.

For each one of these processing chains, at maximum three choices are possible:

Processing chain Possible choices Comments
Collection generation (1 for SDD, 1 for SCT) Manual trigger only The processing chain is never initiated automatically.
At the end of the transaction file integration process This trigger is launched at the end of the transaction file integration process. If rejected transactions are created or if the transactions are awaiting validation, automatic triggering is not initiated. At the end of the process, if the creditor subscribed the alert, an alert by mail warns him about the transaction rejection Manual trigger is always available
At a defined time slot The creditor chooses a time slot during which SPS should initiate the processing. All three processing batches will not be launched simultaneously. The process will be initiated as early as possible in a selected time frame of two hours. Manual trigger is always available
Collection file generation (1 for SDD, 1 for SCT) Manual trigger only The processing chain is never initiated automatically.
At the end of the collection generation This trigger is launched at the end of the collection generation. If collections are waiting for validation or obsolete, the automatic triggering is not initiated. The trigger is launched each time the collection generation is launched, whatever the mean that the collections have been generated (manually or automatically...) Manual trigger is always available
At a defined time slot The creditor chooses a time slot during which SPS should initiate the processing. All three processing batches will not be launched simultaneously. The process will be initiated as early as possible in a selected time frame of two hours. Manual trigger is always available
CFONB240: R-Transactions file generation (will be displayed only if the creditor allows the generation of R-Transaction files in CFONB240 format) Manual trigger only The processing chain is never initiated automatically.
At a defined time slot The creditor chooses a time slot during which SPS should initiate the processing. The process will be initiated as early as possible in a selected time frame of two hours.

If the collection generation process and the collection file generation processed are configured to be launched at the same time slot, SEPA Payment Suite will run the collection file generation only when the collection generation process is completed.

Default Values

By default all the resellers have the option, but the option is disabled for their creditor organizations.

When created a new reseller, the default values are as following:

Processing chain Possible choices
Collection generation (SDD, SCT) Time slot : 10 pm-00am
Collection file generation (SDD, SCT) At the finalization of collection generation
R-Transactions file generation Time slot : 02am-04am
